The Miami Township Police Department is the largest township department in Montgomery County. Its authorized strength is based on available funding through two police operating levies.
The department holds the nationally recognized Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) Certificate of Compliance that recognizes the department’s commitment to public safety and professional excellence. It also hosts one of the top National Night Out events in the country, bringing the community together to promote an anti-crime message.

CALEA
The Miami Township Police Department earned its third CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies) accreditation in August 2025. Accreditation is good for four years. The police department was last accredited in June 2021. The distinction demonstrates the department's commitment to the highest quality practices and procedures. Learn more.
