Miami Township will hold the third annual Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 9 a.m. until noon. This family-friendly event is for children ages 4 to 15.

INFO: The Miami Township Kids Fishing Derby is a free catch-and-release competition for children ages 4 to 15. The child who catches the longest fish wins a $50 gift card. Second and third place finishers each receive a $25 gift card. There is even a prize for the child that catches the smallest fish! Thank you to our kind sponsors: Dayton Mall, Community Foundation of Miami Township and Kona Ice. The Dayton Metro Library-Miami Township branch will also be on hand in support.
Spend the morning fishing along the fully stocked pond at Miami View Park, 5911 Munger Road. Participants need to bring their own fishing gear, including hooks and bobbers. Live bait will be provided. Don’t want to fish? Bring along a family picnic and enjoy getting to know your community leaders and neighbors. This event is free.
