The 2024 Miami Township Fishing Derby was a tremendous success! Children from across the area gathered to fish in the pond at Miami View Park. This year’s top fishing kids are:
First Place – Caden Smith who caught the longest fish at 15 inches.
Second Place – Olivia Gore who caught two 7.5-inch fish. That second 7.5 incher broke a tie with Dustin!
Third Place – Dustin Lewis who caught a 7.5-inch fish.
The Smallest Fish award goes to Owen Prim whose 2-inch fish won him a tackle box decorated by Lainhart Signs!
Thank you to our Gold Sponsor, the Dayton Mall and to Kona Ice of NE Cincinnati & Dayton for providing the kids with icy treats! And, to the Community Foundation of Miami Township for providing water and snacks. Not to be outdone, the Dayton Metro Library Miami Township Branch brought books to share!

We had a beautiful day for fishing! Our Public Works staff and other administrative staff cannot thank you enough for taking part! Thank you to our police department and to the Miami Valley Fire District for being there to keep us all safe.
