It is with great sadness that Miami Township marks the passing of Richard Church, Jr. Dick was the longest-serving mayor in the city of Miamisburg history, having held office for 28 years until his retirement in 2019. He earned the trust and respect of everyone he encountered.
Church was pivotal in strengthening collaborative projects between the city and township, including the creation of the Miami Valley Fire District, a yearly street paving program, and including us in events like Miamisburg’s bicentennial celebration.
Township staff and administrators were honored to host him at various township events over the years. We thank him for his years of support. Our deepest condolences to his wife, Judith, and all of his family and friends.
