WHAT: Miami Township is hosting a Kids Fishing Derby complete with prizes, snacks and a touch-a-truck event

INFO: The Miami Township Kids Fishing Derby is a free catch-and-release competition for children ages 4 to 15. The child who catches the longest fish wins a $50 gift card and a new fishing pole. Second and third place finishers each receive a $25 gift card. There is even a prize for the child that catches the smallest fish! We are proud to have the Community Foundation of Miami Township sponsor our prizes. Children can also touch a truck, including police cruisers, MIami Valley Fire District fire trucks, snow plows and a tow truck. The Miami Township branch of the Dayton Metro Library will also have an activities table for the kids.
Spend your morning fishing along the stocked pond at Miami View Park, 5911 Munger Road. Participants need to bring their own fishing gear, including hooks and bobbers. Live bait will be provided. Don’t want to fish? Bring along a family picnic and enjoy getting to know your community leaders and neighbors. This event is free.
