Sexual assault awareness donation drive

Clothing drive carousel 2021

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Every year in Ohio, 5,000 child abuse cases are determined to be sexual abuse, and the numbers have only increased during the pandemic. Abuse cases often result in children removed from their homes wearing only the clothing on their backs and a few personal items.

Miami Township administration and the Miami Township Police Department are teaming up with the Dayton post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol to conduct a donation drive through April 30, 2021.

Donations of new or gently used clothing and new hygiene products will benefit a Montgomery County Children Services agency. All items collected will be donated in early May.

Please drop off donations either at the Miami Township Administration Building, 2700 Lyons Road, or at the police department, 2660 Lyons Road, during open business hours, M-F, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. through April 30.

Here is a list of items needed most:

  • Clothing (various sizes)
  • Long and short-sleeved t-shirts
  • Pants
  • Shorts
  • Shoes
  • Undergarments
